Session 3: Tackling the Tough Stuff: Addressing Social-Emotional Issues With Vulnerable Families Thursday, January 18, 2018 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST
When working with vulnerable families such as those dealing with domestic violence, substance abuse, or mental illness, home visitors need to know how to address the complex issues of young children’s social-emotional development with skill and sensitivity.
This virtual event, session 3 in a 4-part series, will provide a complete introduction to the problem-solving PAUSE (Perceive, Ask, Understand, Strategize, Evaluate) framework. Developed by the presenters, this framework provides relationship-based practices and reflective skills you can use in everyday interactions with children and families. Attendees will come away with practical information that can be applied right away to ensure better outcomes for children.
