The PEAR Network is an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation program.The PEAR Network is a FREE service available to support infants and young children, ages 0-5, in South Carolina.

Is there a child in your classroom who: 

  • Interferes with your ability to teach effectively? 
  • Displays behaviors that interfere with his/her or other children’s learning? 
  • Other parents complain about? 
  • You find yourself hoping that he/she will be absent? 

Has your child:  

  • Been sent home from childcare due to behaviors? 
  • Had excessive difficulty separating from you at drop off? 
  • Displayed behaviors or emotions that you find confusing? 


We provide supportive services from early childhood mental health experts in areas such as: 

  • Child behavior & social emotional issues 
  • Supporting children during the COVID-19 crisis 
  • Teacher, Director & Parent support 
  • Classroom issues 
  • General stress and coping 
  • And other concerns related to caring for young children. 

The PEAR Network is here to support you during these challenging situations.  We are currently offering Tele-Mental Health Consultation (TeleMHC) services. 

TeleMHC allows any individuals caring for young children to connect with one of the PEAR Network Mental Health Consultants for a brief consultation.

Please note, we are not equipped to offer emergency mental health services. If this is a  life-threatening  emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If this is a mental health emergency, please call the Department of Mental Health’s Statewide crisis response center at (833) 364-2274.
