Mikayla Harper, MA, LPC Mikayla has experience working with kids, teens, and young adults. Using an eclectic treatment approach that often begins with cognitive and behavioral interventions, Mikayla takes care to make sure the therapy process is tailored to meet each person’s or family’s goals and needs. As a counselor, Mikayla is skilled in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment and phase of life issues, social skill deficits, and child behavioral problems. Additionally, Mikayla has a special interest in and experience working with the autism community, including both helping people experiencing autism spectrum disorder manage the challenges that come with this diagnosis and commonly co-occurring conditions and supporting parents and families of individuals on the spectrum with the unique life challenges that can come from loving someone on the autism spectrum. As a true Charleston local, Mikayla obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the College of Charleston and a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from The Citadel Graduate College. Mikayla is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and certified children’s yoga instructor
