About Our Speaker: Michelle Hammack, LISW-CP, IMH-E®
PEAR Network Manager

Michelle Hammack serves as the Partners for Early Attuned Relationships (PEAR) Network Manager at South Carolina Infant Mental Health Association. She has experience working with individuals throughout the lifespan but is especially passionate about serving mothers, infants and young children. She's had an interest in working with children every since her days of babysitting neighborhood children and taking child development classes in high school. Her passion led her to earn her master's degree in social work from University of Maryland, Baltimore, specializing in child, adolescent and family health. At school she gained experience working with youth in an emergency domestic violence shelter and counseling high school students.

Following school, Hammack served as a case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. Through this work, Hammack grew an affinity for the strength-based perspective and process of team collaboration, which became a staple of her practice. Her most recent role was as a maternal-child social worker at an inner-city Baltimore hospital. In this position, Hammack fostered programs to increase the well-being of mothers and families during pregnancy and the postpartum period. These experiences have intensified her drive to work with diverse populations while incorporating culturally sensitive processes. 

Hammack continues working with youth through her church's childcare program. Originally from Maryland, she and her family moved to the Lowcountry in 2021. She loves to be active outdoors and loves being in the sun every chance she gets!
