Session Description:

The presentation will focus on teacher well-being and identify small, manageable actions steps to improve overall well-being right away.

Session Learning Objectives: 

  • Participants will learn how the body biologically responds to stress and how that triggers a physical, emotional and mental stress cycle
  • Participants will learn about the 8 Dimensions of Wellness
  • Participants will learn how to apply the 8 Dimensions of Wellness in their day-to-day lives
  • Participants will develop a personal action plan for well-being

 Our Presenter:

Tia Prostko, MS

As a long-time educator in the fields of recreation, health, and well-being, Tia brings a passion for service to others through a variety of experiences to Be Well Care Well. In previous roles, she taught individual and team sports to college students, served as a lifeguard and swim team coach, worked as a night shift emergency room technician, and provided support for newly breastfeeding moms and babies at SC WIC. Most recently, Tia served numerous counties throughout the Upstate of SC as the Lead Health Educator with ABC Quality. While there, she provided technical assistance and training to childcare providers, and she played a significant role in development of the state’s outdoor play and learning environments initiative, Grow Outdoors SC. Tia earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with an emphasis on Recreation from the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. She also holds a Masters of Science in Health and Physical Activity with an emphasis on Developmental Movement from the University of Pittsburgh.
