  • Learn best practices for working with family voice leaders
  • Learn about examples of family voice and leadership being implemented in early childhood work
  • Consider how your organization can create or enhance existing family voice and leadership practices

Presenter

Marcie Ownbey, Project Manager

Marcie Ownbey is an experienced nonprofit and political professional, interested in harnessing the power of disaggregated data, community organizing, and family leadership and engagement to address inequities, improve services, and expand access to services for families.

Marcie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville, a Master of Public Affairs degree from Western Carolina University, and a Master of Science in Youth, Family, and Community Sciences from North Carolina State University. She has worked as a foster care social worker and as a political campaign organizing director, and currently serves as Project Manager for the South Carolina Infant Mental Health Association, where she manages projects focused on supporting the child and family-serving workforce and expanding high-quality services to the state's young children and their families. Marcie coordinates family voice and leadership for SCIMHA's Safe Babies Court program and for the South Carolina Prenatal-3 Leadership Team.
