Objectives: Upon completion of this session participants will be able to:
1. Describe infant and early childhood mental health
2. Understand organizational initiatives to promote social-emotional health of children
3. Identify the system approach organizations are taking to address infant mental health in SC
Overview
Kerrie Schnake, CEO of The South Carolina Infant Mental Health Association, will kick-off this session by examining programmatic initiatives, advocacy-related efforts, and trends in the field. Additionally, SCIMHA will host guest speakers from organizations including The Department of Health and Human Services, The Department of Health and Environmental Control, The Department of Social Services, The Department of Children's Advocacy, and The Department of Mental Health to share how they are supporting the social-emotional well-being of children ages zero to six. Participants will then have the opportunity to ask the panel of speakers questions related to their work.
