Objectives: Upon completion of this session participants will:

  1. Understand the importance of father involvement and their impact on the mental development of children
  2. Learn about the impact of fatherlessness and it’s impact on society
  3. Help practitioners develop strategies to best meet the needs of the families that they serve and increase father involvement

    Presenter:

    Marc Himes, Director of Community Engagement

    Marc Himes currently serves as a Director of Community Engagement for the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families a faith-based, nonprofit organization that supports a statewide infrastructure designed to strengthen relationships between fathers and families throughout South Carolina.  In this position he provides programming support, training, and oversite of various statewide projects. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, and a Masters in Counseling from Webster University. He and his wife Rosalyn reside in Columbia, SC and have three children, Kollin, Kaitlyn, and Dylan.
